When my mother suffered a severe stroke, my world changed overnight. I went from being her child to being her full-time caregiver, navigating a complex and often frustrating healthcare system while trying to ensure she had the best possible quality of life. The journey has been overwhelming, isolating, and filled with endless challenges—but also moments of hope, resilience, and small victories worth celebrating.
In the early days, I searched desperately for guidance, support, and answers. Support groups became a lifeline, offering shared experiences and a sense of community. But I quickly realized the limitations: people come and go, posts get buried, and it’s difficult to find specific, detailed stories that truly resonate. On the other hand, major health organizations provide valuable medical information, but they often lack the personal insights, raw emotions, and real-world experiences that caregivers and survivors face daily.

That’s why I created this blog. I wanted to build something lasting—a catalog of real stories, written by those who have lived through stroke recovery firsthand. Every stroke is unique, and finding a story that reflects your own experiences can make all the difference in feeling understood and less alone. This blog is a space where caregivers and survivors can share their journeys, struggles, and triumphs. It’s a place to document what works, what doesn’t, and what we wish we had known earlier.

Ultimately, my goal is to compensate contributors for their stories. Money is one of the biggest challenges for both survivors and caregivers, and I believe their voices and experiences deserve recognition and financial support. Until then, I hope this space serves as a valuable resource, offering comfort, knowledge, and a sense of belonging to anyone navigating life after stroke.
If you’re here, whether as a caregiver, survivor, or supporter, I welcome you. Let’s build something meaningful together.
